Village of Torrox is situated in province of Malaga in autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It is sheltered by the Sierra Tejeda and Sierra Almijara mountains and the average annual temperature in region is 18C. The Torrox area lays claim to have "the best climate in Europe".
Like most of other villages in region, Torrox has an Arabic origin. The architecture is typical - a labyrinth of narrow winding streets of white washed houses radiating up and out from the main square.
Nowadays Torrox is a pleasant combination of old traditional Spanish life and the facilities expected by the modern day tourist. Despite it becomes more popular as travel destination in high season the village remain a calm and peaceful place. However its charm and close proximity to the coast has in recent years led to an increase in the number of overseas property owners.
