Municipality Gaucin

Municiplaity Gaucin is located in province of Malaga (autonomous communuty of Andalusia - south Spain). Village of Gaucin is situated at altitude of 629 metres on the Summit of La Sierra Del Hacho and has commanding views over the surrounding area - Serrania, all the way to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains in Morrocco.

Gaucin is charming typical white village. Its centre is composed of narrow, winding alleyways with the houses cramped together.

Old Moorish name of Gauchin was Guazan (strong rock). Its  strategic position was further appreciated by the Romans who settled in the area building a fortress on the mountain top.
