Municipality Ribeira

Municipality of Ribeira is situated in province of Corunna in autonomous community of Galicia, north-western Spain. The town is main fishing port and an economically important place, not just to Galicia, but but to the whole of Spain. It is a genuine working fishing town with a large port capable of taking deep sea fishing vessels. The closest major city to Ribeira is Santiago de Compostela.

Ribeira is popular with holiday makers and gives a true view of Galicia's ancestory and seafaring history.  It is the best spot in Galicia region to get freshly caught and cooked seafood. The local speciality are Sardines.
