Municipality Tazacorte

Tazacorte municipality (province Santa Cruz de Tenerife) is situated on the west side of the la Palma island (Canary islands archipelago) and claims to be the warmest place on the island. It is the smallest and most recently formed municipality of La Palma. Tazacorte has traditionally been associated with the fishing industry. Ships sail from its port along the cliffs towards Fuencaliente or off into the distant horizon.

Village of Tazacorte consists of 2 separete villages: Tazacorte pueblo, that is situated 1km above the coast and is the main center with the town hall, post office, shops and supermarket and Puerto de Tazacorte - the area on the coast where the fishing harbour is located. Puerto de Tazacorte attracts also with its long promenade with specular views,  the black sand beach and an area with boulevard, bars and fish restaurants.
