The village of
Alhama (
Granada province) is one of
Andalucía's most beautiful villages. It is located about 50 km from the town of
Granada and is known for its hot baths.
The name
Alhama origins from Arabish - the Moors called it Al-Hamma, or hot spring, because of its thermal springs, and it was so famous that Christians spent vast sums of money to take the waters here during the Reconquest.
