The small village of Garrucha is located on the Costa de Almeria (province of Almeria, Andalusia). It was originally founded in the 16th century when local fishermen constructed a defensive fort overlooking the Sea.
Garrucha has still managed to keep much of its old charm and it has become a popular visitor destination in the last years. The village has a fishing port where visitors can see the catching of fresh fish being unloaded and then sold on the quay.
Garrucha beaches are about 5 miles in total length and are perfect for activities such as football and beach volleyball, plus water sports like snorkelling and sub aqua.
