Province of Alicante is the most southern province of autonomous community of Valenicana (eastern Spain). It is bordered by the provinces of Murcia on the southwest, Albacete on the west, Valencia on the north, and the Mediterranean Sea on the east.

The area is mountainous, specially to the north and west, whereas it is mostly flat to the south, in the Vega Baja del Segura area.

The capital city is city of Alicante and other important towns are Elche, Torrevieja, Orihuela, Benidorm, Alcoy, Elda and San Vicente del Raspeig.
