Municipality Plentzia is located in autonomous community of
Basque Country,
Spain. It is part of
Biscay province. The municipal center town of
Plenza is located around 27 km north-east of
city of Bilbao and is part of Bilbao metropolitan area (there is located the first line of Bilbao Metro).
Plentzia is a popular resort town and place to buy weekend–holiday homes. It has large beach beside the Plentzia River estuary, in the round, shell-shaped Bay of
Plentzia and shared with neighbor municipalities of
Gorliz and
Barrika.
