Municipality Aguilar de la Frontera is located in autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain and is part of Cordoba province.
The municipal village Aguilar is spread out on a small hill, shaped like a white stain stretched across green vineyards.
The current name was given in the 13C, after the Reconquest, when the Muslim village of Bulay was renamed to Aguilar and soon to the name was added "de la frontera" (on the border), because of its proximity to the border of the Kingdom of Granada.
