Autonomous community of Navarre is located in northern
Spain and consists of only one provice "
Foral Community of Navarre". It is bordered by autonomous communities of
Basque Country (west),
la Rioja (west and south-west) and
Aragon (south and east).
Navarre is a largely rural area, stretching up into the Pyrenees. The region has many nature landmarks, including the Irati beech wood and the strange Bardenas Reales - a natural feature produced by the erosion of arid hills.
Navarra was a Basque kingdom in the past. The capital city is
Pamplona.
