Municipality Merida

City of Merida is located almost in the centre of the Autonomous community of Extremadura in province of Badajoz and is one of the biggest cities of Extremadura (3th).

Mérida was an important judicial, economical, military and cultural centre, both - during Roman rule and after the fall of the Empire. Until the day of today lots of ruins and Roman remains are found throughout the city.

The climate in region is a mixture of Mediterranean and continental, meaning very hot summers, with temperatures of 40deg C and cold winters, with temperatures dropping to below zero.
