Municipality Vitoria-Gasteiz

Until recently just a small town, today Vitoria-Gasteiz is the capital of province of Avala and of the autonomous community of Basque Country, Spain and 2nd largest in community after city of Bilbao. The name Vitoria-Gasteiz is combination from its Spanish name (Vitoria) and its Basque name (Gasteiz).

Vitoria-Gasteiz has been ranked 2nd in standard of living among all cities in Spain, and first as to green areas and cultural places per capita.
